About

Nancy Tilton Hand, JD, NLP Trainer

Nancy Tilton Hand is an attorney, mediator, and negotiation trainer with over 24 years of experience in the art of persuasion, modern linguistics and behavioral change strategy. Her experience applying these methods across an array of disciplines allows her to offer her clients a variety of solutions tailored specifically to their negotiation goals.

Nancy is a contract and intellectual property attorney and has drafted and negotiated contracts in business, music, film, fine arts, medicine, software, and emerging technology.  She uses her experience in the negotiation and mediation of complex multi-party contracts to create a framework for her negotiation training.  Her passion for good communication has led Nancy on a lifelong quest to learn how to communicate and negotiate better.  Nancy has studied with the pioneers and experts in the field of linguistics, human behavior, and cutting-edge behavioral change technologies.  She is a Licensed Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainer, Master Practitioner, and has been a Licensed Practitioner of NLP for 24 years. In addition, Nancy has extensive experience in Emotional Freedom Technique (expert level, EFT-ADV), Silva Method, and the use of intentionality.

Nancy’s ultimate goal is to support her clients in becoming prepared, confident and highly effective negotiators, no matter what is “on the line” or who is on the other side of the negotiation table.  She teaches clients how to streamline communication by eliminating fears and doubts, planning, building rapport, creating well targeted questions, and using advanced negotiation tactics and the art of persuasion.  Her methods range from training in traditional negotiation tactics to non-traditional application of energy, intention, and purpose in negotiation.

In addition to private, one-on-one negotiation consulting, Nancy provides skills-based negotiation training in a hands-on workshop format for groups and individuals.  Her training methods are particularly beneficial for groups who are traditionally underrepresented at the bargaining table.

While they may seem elusive, people skills can be learned – anyone can become a competent and confident communicator.  Nancy’s communication and negotiation training seminars teach the science of communication.  She trains and coaches her clients through the negotiation process in a way that produces repeatable, consistent results. Her clients learn how to put modern negotiation techniques into practice in their business, contract, and personal negotiations.

Consulting clients and workshop participants learn how to eliminate fears, build strong verbal and non-verbal rapport, reduce the effect of stereotypes, ask effective questions, de-activate emotional “hot buttons”, build confidence in their use of traditional and non-traditional negotiation tactics, “ask for the order” closing skills, and establish good post-negotiation relationships.

Nancy is a member of The American Bar Association (ABA) the ABA Section For Dispute Resolution, The Louisiana Bar Association (LSBA), The LSBA Dispute Resolution Section, The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and is listed on the Alabama Center For Dispute Resolution mediation roster for the state of Alabama.

Nancy is a Licensed Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainer, Master Practitioner, a Licensed Practitioner of NLP for 24 years and an expert Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT-ADV) practitioner.  She is also a certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach, a charter member of the International Coaching Association, and a member of Coachville.

Nancy lives in Alabama with her husband, a chemical engineer, and their lovely dogs Pansy and Meshaz.   She is a noted artist, photographer, and equestrienne who enjoys spending time in nature and giving back to the community.  Nancy served as 2007 president of the Lee County Sunrise Rotary Club and is a proud member of the Auburn Women’s club.
